Anybody else love the original Underworld movies? I loved how there were species weaknesses that the other exploited (Silver vs. UV light) and how they were given an origin backstory. Every time I see a FB friend proudly declare that they've silenced all mention of politics on the feed because it's all just negging, I'm sort of amazed that they think they're privileged enough not to have any of this affect them at all. So this was going to be a straightforward squee post about Rogue One, which we saw yesterday.

SUCH AN AMAZING MOVIE. I haven't been so moved by an animated film since Frozen, and the themes are arguably similar (the search for identity, the importance of family, perseverance in the face of monstrous defeat) and yet not (wanderlust as one of Moana's defining and redeeming character traits, the value of culture and history on one's personal ( Read more... )

This was also a love/hate ep. What bugs me the most is that the Kolvina part I think i was supposed to love gave me the worst lip curling WTF reaction. Like I can feel myself shipping them less, and every time sets of it cross my dash I am just WHYYYY.
